Sales Manager

Description

The role of the Sales Manager entails contributing to the sales and pricing strategies, managing customer relationships and adding new revenue sales.   This individual is responsible for identifying and qualifying new sales leads, addressing queries and mitigating any potential challenges our customer accounts may encounter. The Sales Manager will work alongside   the Customer Service  team to facilitate customer onboarding. 

Our overarching objective is to guarantee the success of our customers. The ideal candidate for this role possesses a genuine enthusiasm for customer service and sales. They demonstrate patience, empathy, and a proclivity for articulate and passionate communication. Innate relationship management and interpersonal communications skills are a couple of the  key attributes of a successful Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Drives sales and collaborates with the customer service and marketing  team to deliver and onboard new customers

  • Identifies prospective customers, lead generation and conversion to aid company growth objectives

  • Contacts new and existing customers to discuss needs, develop relationships and add new product revenues

  • Meets sales quotas and targets

  • Emphasize the features of products and highlight how they solve customer problems

  • Negotiate prices and terms and prepare sales agreements

  • Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets

  • Consults with potential customers to understand their needs; identifies and suggests equipment, products, or services that will meet those needs

  • Resolves customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere company-customer relationships and short to long term goals

  • Collaborates with leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies 

  • Prepares sales budget; monitors and approves expenses

  • Acts as company representative at trade association meetings and conferences

  • Collaborates with  Customer Success Managers as required supporting implementations and demonstrations

  • Builds sustainable customer relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication, documenting interactions and account history/status/etc

  • Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents

  • Follow communication procedures, guidelines and policies

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Business Administration, or related field, OR

  • Comparable record of sales leadership experience required.

  • At least 3 years of sales experience required, preferably in the maritime industry

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite or related software

  • Familiarity with CRM systems and practices

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively

  • A self starter who possesses the ability to work independently

  • A goal oriented personality with a track record of over-achieving

  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Must be able to travel up to 50%

  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card
